All New Showcase
Comics, movies, TV shows -- it's like having a comic shop argument with your best friends.

It may be Marvel's biggest risk yet -- this week the Showcase crew discusses how Ant-Man stacks up against the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Is it too little, too late, or will this be the movie to prove that good things come in small packages?

And what's cool this week? In what may be the most diverse array of choices ever, Erin is in the midst of an X-Files rewatch, Jason recently discovered the classic The Manchurian Candidate, Mike is finishing a read of Jamie Delano's Animal Man, and Blake just binged the sitcom Holliston.

Last weekend was the annual bacchanalia of nerddom known as Comic-Con International: San Diego. And just like every year, Blake and Erin... weren't there. Instead, with the help of Showcasers on the Facebook Page, they spent the week gathering the coolest and most interesting info from the con to discuss on this week's show. Their thoughts on the Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer. New directors announced for Star Wars. The return of some classic comics and the launch of some new ones. This week, we go through it all...

And what's cool this week? Erin enjoyed the first two issues of Starfire, and Blake gives his endorsement to Archie #1 and Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #2.

Last week, Marvel released their new slate of titles to follow Secret Wars. This week, Blake and Erin peruse the previews and talk about which ones look like they'll be worth reading and which ones they're probably going to pass on. And they also discuss the most important question: just how "all-new, all-different" does it really look like Marvel is getting?

And what's cool this week? Blake is enjoying Bizarro #2 and Will Eisner's The Spirit #1!

Blake and Erin return this week for another Your Turn to Pick movie podcast! This time it's Blake's turn, and he pulls out Adam Green's (Hatchet, Frozen) newest horror film Digging Up the Marrow. They talk about the monsters, the nature of characters in horror movies, and what kind of movie is creepy enough to make Erin jump at her own ringtone. If you haven't seen the movie yet, check it out before the Petits get super-spoilery.

And what's cool this week? Erin loved Disney/Pixar's newest flick Inside Out, and Blake doubles up with a pair of comic books Evil Dead 2: Beyond Dead By Dawn #1 and Infinity Gauntlet #2.

Over 20 years after the tragic incident at Isla Nublar, Jurassic World is open for business? Does Colin Trevorrow's return to this legendary franchise do justice for the fans? Blake and Erin give you their thoughts on the summer's biggest film to date.

And what's cool this week? Blake wants you guys all to march on down to your local comic shop and pick up Action Comics #41 and Thom Zahler's charming Long Distance #1.

It's time for an all-new Showcase feature! Have you ever sat around with your friends, family, or significant other, trying to choose a movie to watch and finally giving up and turning to reruns of The Simpsons? Blake and Erin certainly have. And that's where this new series comes in! In every episode of this irregularly occurring feature, one of your hosts will choose a movie with no input from the other. They'll watch and review it, no matter what it is. The first time up is Erin's turn to pick, and she went with the 1990 Scorcese classic Goodfellas.

And what’s cool this week? Erin has gone crazy over the Japanese mobile game Neko Atsume, while Blake is happy with the end of DC's Convergence.

This Memorial Day weekend, Blake and Erin take in a double feature of sci-fi movies that couldn't be more different. The reboot/sequel/whatever of the Max Max franchise, Mad Max: Fury Road, is up first -- does it live up to the original films? Is Tom Hardy crazy enough to replace Mel Gibson? And who is Erin's new geek crush? Then, Tomorrowland. Can Brad Bird keep up his winning streak? Will this finally give Disney a new live action franchise? And what would Walt think?

And what's cool this week? Erin's enjoyment of Matt Fraction and David Aja continues with Hawkeye Vol. 3: LA Woman, while Blake still can't stop talking about the season finale of The Flash.

Free Comic Book Day rolls around once again, and once again Blake and Kenny -- joined for the first time by Erin -- man a table at BSI Comics in Metairie. This time around the gang chats about recent events in the Flash and Gotham TV shows, give their thoughts on Divergence, All New All Different Avengers, Fight Club, Dark Circle and the other Free Comic Book Day titles, and then come back with a review of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

And what's cool this week? Kenny is having a blast with LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, Erin is totally biased and chooses her husband's new book Everything You Need to Know to Survive English Class but slightly less biased with a viewing of the classic Akira, and Blake is still reeling from Batman #40.

After a bit of a rain delay, Blake is back with this year's Free Comic Book Day preview! Which books is he looking forward to? Will Marvel's wars remain a secret? Just how divergent can DC Comics get? And how can Archie Comics put out two books with no Archie?

And what's cool this week? Blake's having a blast with Scott Sigler's Infected series!

Join the Showcase crew this Saturday at BSI Comics, and get an early copy of Blake's new book, Everything You Need to Know to Survive English Class!

Memorial Day Weekend is racing towards us, and that means it's time for the annual Showcase Summer Movie Preview. Blake and Erin cruise through IMDB's "Coming Soon" pages this week to talk about Avengers: Age of Ultron and several other movies that will not make as much money as Avengers: Age of Ultron. We go from the blockbusters-in-the-making like Jurassic World, Tomorrowland and San Andreas to movies like Trainwreck, in which the reviews seem to write themselves. Also: Erin shows her street cred and Blake bemoans the state of modern horror!

And what's cool this week? "Wait For the Trade" reader Erin has gotten heavily into Matt Fraction and David Aja's Hawkeye, while weekly comic junkie Blake enjoyed the heck out of Convergence #2 and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #2.
